Aegis Professor Undergraduate Competition

2025 Participants alongside the Aegis Professors and Faculty staff.

Congratulations to our 11 teams of students that took part in the 2025 Aegis Professor Undergraduate Competition. The standard was incredibly high and we were delighted to award our first prize to Team 9 who tackled the challenge of clean drinking water for all. Close runners up were Team 25 who looking into how organisations can reduce their environmental footprint.

The Science Partnership Office in association with the Faculty of Science and Engineering Student Societies brings you the Aegis Professor Undergraduate Competition: an exciting scheme where students have the chance to see how scientific research ideas can be commercialised with the opportunity to win up to £5000.

What’s involved

You will work in a multidisciplinary team of students and apply your knowledge to a real-world scientific challenge.

Working over the summer, you will present your work to the Faculty Aegis Professors at a celebration day event in September 2024.
