APUC 2024 has seen over 100 students from across Science and Engineering sign up to the competition. Team members met each other for the first time at an information and team ‘mingle’ event on 8th May. They got a chance to practice team-building and problem-solving skills by tackling the ‘marshmallow challenge’ – using spaghetti, tape and string to build the tallest structure possible that can support one marshmallow. This fun exercise really broke the ice – the winning team built a tower 59 cm tall and were awarded mugs as a prize!
